What is
Kitchen Table Settlement?

Kitchen Table Settlement can be the cheapest and most efficient way to settle a divorce.

The reason is because the parties do the heavy lifting: they meet with one another (i.e. at a kitchen table), they discuss the terms of their settlement, reach an agreement, and provide those terms to an attorney (or to each of their respective attorneys) to process the paperwork to make it final.

No attorney in Pennsylvania can represent both parties, so if the parties only hire one attorney, that attorney can only represent one of them.  It is faster and often cheaper because attorney involvement is very limited.  However, not every couple knows what decisions they need to make for their divorce, custody, and/or support cases, or what their rights are under the law, or the long-term impact of an agreement.  As such, other options may be a better fit.
